Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels: The $960 a Year Question

How this review was built. Pricing, tiers and limits come from the vendor's own pricing page and documentation as of the date above — and where a figure is the vendor's claim, we say so rather than repeat it as fact. Some links on this page are affiliate links: we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, which is why the drawbacks are printed in full on this page rather than left for you to find later. About the rating. It is our own editorial judgement on a 1–5 scale — not the output of a formula, and not the result of hands-on testing. Treat it as one publication's opinion and read the drawbacks, which are the useful part. See our full methodology & disclosure →

Verdict: At the entry tier ClickFunnels costs $80/month more and gives you fewer courses, capped emails and no affiliate tools — but double the contacts. If your list is under 5,000, that $960 a year buys you very little.

Pros

  • Systeme.io Startup is $17/mo against ClickFunnels Launch at $97/mo — a $960/year difference
  • Unlimited emails on every Systeme.io plan; ClickFunnels Launch caps you at 50,000/month
  • Affiliate management is included on Systeme.io's free plan; ClickFunnels Launch has none
  • Systeme.io's free tier is permanent — 2,000 contacts, no card. ClickFunnels has no free plan.

Cons

  • ClickFunnels Launch gives 10,000 contacts against Systeme.io Startup's 5,000 — double
  • ClickFunnels' page builder is genuinely better; Systeme.io's is rigid and dated
  • Systeme.io reporting is shallow — surface metrics only, no cohort or attribution depth
  • ClickFunnels has the larger integration and template ecosystem

The number, and where it comes from

Systeme.io Startup: $17/month. ClickFunnels Launch: $97/month. That is $80 a month, $960 a year, and it is the entire reason this comparison gets searched.

Both figures are taken from each company's own pricing page, not from a comparison blog. That matters, because most of the articles ranking for this question quote $27 for Systeme.io — a tier that does not exist — and arrive at $840. The real gap is larger.

What the extra $960 actually buys you

This is the part most comparisons skip. ClickFunnels is not simply more expensive for the same thing.

ClickFunnels wins on one thing at this tier: contacts. Ten thousand against five. If your list is already past 5,000, that is a real advantage and you should weigh it honestly.

Everything else at this tier favours Systeme.io — and the email cap is the one people discover late. Fifty thousand sends a month sounds generous until you email a 10,000-person list five times.

Who should pay the extra $960

Stay with ClickFunnels if:

  • Your list is over 5,000 and growing fast — you will hit Systeme.io's contact ceiling and need the $47 tier anyway, narrowing the gap
  • Page design is your product. ClickFunnels' builder is better, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. If your funnels are visually distinctive and that is part of why they convert, a rigid builder is a real cost
  • You depend on a specific integration or template ecosystem that Systeme.io does not have

Move to Systeme.io if:

  • Your list is under 5,000 and you are paying $97 for headroom you are not using
  • You email frequently — unlimited beats a 50,000/month cap the moment you send often
  • You want affiliate management without a separate line item. On ClickFunnels Launch you simply cannot have it
  • You sell courses. Five against three, at a fifth of the price

The honest test

Open your current ClickFunnels bill and find your actual contact count and monthly send volume. Not your plan limits — your usage.

If you are under 5,000 contacts, the $960 a year is buying you a better page builder and nothing else. That may still be worth it to you. It is a real trade, not a trick — but you should make it deliberately rather than by default.

If you are over 10,000 contacts, this comparison is not really about Launch, and you should be comparing Systeme.io's $47 Webinar tier against ClickFunnels Scale at $197.

Try it before you switch

Systeme.io's free plan is not a trial. 2,000 contacts, three funnels, one course, unlimited emails, one affiliate program, no card required, no expiry.

That is enough to rebuild your main funnel and send to a segment of your list before you cancel anything. Migration is where switching goes wrong — do it in parallel, not as a leap.

A different approach: Bonfire Terminal

Systeme.io runs in the vendor's cloud — your data is processed on their servers, and you pay every month for as long as you use it. Bonfire Terminal is a different kind of tool: an AI agent that runs as a desktop app on your own machine. No cloud, no API credits, and nothing you type leaves your computer.

To be straight with you: it is not a drop-in replacement for Systeme.io, and we are not going to pretend it is — they do different jobs. It is worth a look if the cloud-subscription model itself is what you want out of, or if you want an AI agent that works privately and offline. If Systeme.io is doing its job for you, keep it.
